  • Bring in your gently used books for credit that can be applied to 50% of used book purchases. Please read our BOOK DONATIONS page carefully for more information on books we will accept at this time. 

  • We will evaluate and process your books then add the trading credit amount under your name in our database for your next visit. If you would like to know the total credits that were added, before your next visit, please give us a call in a couple days.

  • Credit is generally given at an average of 25% of the Pickwick Books calculated shelf value. You may use up to 50% of your credit towards purchases of used books. So if you are purchasing $10 in used books, you may used $5 of your store credit towards that purchase. 

  • We donate any books that we cannot put out on shelves, unless specified at drop off that you wish them returned. We respectfully ask that you pick up any books that we cannot accept as soon as possible due to very limited space.

  • We are very selective and only take books that we evaluate as highly sell-able, as we always want to bring our valued customers (you!) the very best. Therefore we do not accept the following; discarded library books, damaged, musty, highlighted, annotated or smoky books, hardcovers missing dust jackets, textbooks, outdated reference books, Reader’s Digest Condensed books, encyclopedia sets (exceptions for antique) outdated travel books or magazines, books stamped by other book stores, antiques that have been defaced, diet books or old cookbooks.   We are also currently overloaded with hardcover fiction published prior to 2022. **please note that this is not a complete list and at times we may not accept books due to space limitations. 

  • We will accept books that were already purchased from us as long as they are still in good condition. We reserve the right to not accept books back for credit on a case by case basis. This includes, but is not limited to, books we already have multiple copies of and hardcover fiction published prior 2020.

  • Store credit never expires, has no cash value and cannot be converted into cash or gift certificates.

  • Please only bring a maximum of two manageable sized bags or boxes per drop off - no rubbermaid bins, large moving boxes or boxes that weigh over 20 lbs - bankers boxes and LCBO boxes are perfect. If needing to bring in multiple boxes, please let us know prior- so that we may allow for the space and time required to process them.

  •  EXCEPTIONS TO CREDITS: new books; non-book items; special clearance items; our 50% off or clearance sales; online and special orders.
